Methodology

• Flight prices are round-trip fares from the Travelpayouts cached-fares API (Aviasales partner network). Each is the cheapest fare Travelpayouts has indexed for that route, re-fetched every 24 hours. Actual bookable prices on Aviasales may differ as availability changes.
• Hotel per-night is the standard tier — roughly a 3★ hotel or well-rated guesthouse — computed per cost category (€30 in very-cheap cities like Bali, €53 in cheap ones like Pristina, €75 moderate, €112 expensive, €165 in very-expensive capitals). Dorm-bed prices are roughly 40–50% lower if you prefer hostels; luxury hotels are 3–5×.
• Daily spending (food, local transport, activities) is computed per city from Numbeo-derived local prices: 3 meals + 2 coffees + 1 beer + 4 transit rides + a cost-tier-scaled activity buffer. Cities without per-city data fall back to a category average. Covers casual travel; hostel-dwellers can trim ~20–30%, luxury travel adds ~40%.
• Total 7-day cost = flight + (standard hotel × 7) + (daily spend × 7), per person.
• Leaderboard fairness: we cap any single origin to 3 rows in the Top 20 so short-haul-dense hubs (e.g. Singapore → Southeast Asia) don't crowd out the rest of the list. The per-hub tables below show each origin's full top 10 unfiltered.
